Okay okay yes; yes its been a while since the last blog post here on the old HVP blog type thing.

Hardly surprising given that the whole purpose of this blog was to act as an out of hours and a lot quieter less sound heavy version. However that went tits for toes when I was pumping out best bits podcasts every week and thus had very little time to spend on here. Well that and other things (read: My Course) and seeing as you can now listen back to highlights of the weeks shows on the HVP Youtube page this all makes for a rather… erm.. sticky wicket?

Sticky wicket? I dunno it felt right going there though to be honest I’ve never said that before in my life so god only if that’s the right term.

Anyway anyway I’m typing this to… to… erm…

For what I’m not 100% sure but when I figure it out I’ll tell you. Fine, well let’s continue on then…

Yes its been awhile since I last made a post here, truth be told I’ve been rather busy t’is a rather busy time for me. Yes just as I was seemingly starting to because complacent at having nothing to do (well no seemingly I was) I now find myself hopping and skipping about getting my packing on.

Yep that’s right, rather than do a little everyday I’ve left all my packing to the last minute…

Huzzah!

So I’ve been running round the house looking for my recently washed and now lost clothes. Seriously Its been like something out off Finders Keepers ‘sept without the possibility of winning some ‘Ammaaazzzing Prizzzesss!’.

Okay granted they probably never said that on Finders Keepers but you get my drift.

I suppose one could say that me moving back to Uni’ amidst Freshers Week/Fortnight/Month is reward enough. And I’d say that you are right.

However I have been off the booze for a while now, and oddly enough getting plastered doesn’t appeal to me as much as it once did. But that could soon change once I’m there in the ether of Freshers Shenanigans hooking up with friends old and new and seeing whose survived to the next year.

Not to say I’ve been thinking about such things. No I’ve been thinking about who I may be hooked up with for flatmates this year. In honesty I don’t know who will (if any will) be returning from last year. So there is a good chance I’ll be the old man of the flat.

Not that I am complaining, I just hope that at least one of them is studying the arts in some degree. Hell I’d even settle for a musical theatre student If it meant we had some thing to talk argue about.

But this is as maybe so we’ll just have to see.

Also I’ve been trying to make a video, first version was shite and unscripted. Not to say the two are connected. There was some good lines in it which I’ll use when and if I get chance to make it.

Maybe I’ll work some more on it now…

I say fancy but they are a modest thin black pair and cost me only £18.

Then when you throw the cost of the lenses into the mix you get a sum you’d rather not see…

Also I had a test to try out some contact lenses and see if they could be an option. Even temporally so as I don’t run the risk of the falling off mid jog and I boot them into the cannal. As much as a boon as that would be for Trollyman its not much of a boon for me. So a safer alternative is more than welcome.

So I take my test and I have to say that that was the most painfull check up I’ve ever had!

Good God!

As part of the test they showed me how to put them on and take the off which I had to 3 times.

I did 2 and a half.

How? Well when I tried to put my left lens on JUST as it was resting on my eye an eyelash jerks down and jolts my eye forward knocking it onto the floor.

By gum did my eyes hurt afterwards.

My eyes haven’t looked that red since I had that week of literal nonstop drinking before Christmas…

Don’t get me wrong I do love being at home and all the joys that it brings but I do miss being at Uni’.

The Drinking, the parties, the people, the drinking, karaoke, the radio show, the pubs, the drinking…

Though with that said by the time actual work kicks in I’ll be clawing at the walls to come back home!

True, but still its not long left till I move back. Just over a month in fact. By which time I’ll have been a month off the booze…

Maybe that’s why I’m nearly clawing at the walls?

True its been a long time since my last drinking sesh’ when I was down Bristol way and oddly enough part of me wants to go back despite the fact we went from drinking in Hooters to walking 4 hours in the dark. Wouldn’t have been so bad if one of us even came close to pulling. Though a lot of women did want to stroke my beard and naturally I let them. What with being a gentleman and all.

Yes the days of almost continuously bumming it are nearly over.

Well I say nearly, the reality is far from it. Still I feel as If I am getting somewhere.

Hence why I’ve not posted in a while.

Well that and I want to give it time before I use this page in a more creative way.

Its one of those days where it feels like nothing is going right. And most stuff isn’t.

God damn it.

I woke up fine and dandy, my sleep patterns have now be fully restored thanks in part to me giving up drinking.

I get up have some breakfast and go to check how my weight is going; I’ve started on my exercise routine from last year. So as to be better set for when I got back to Uni’ in September. I’ve been on it since Monday. So I wasn’t expecting a huge drop.

I weighed myself last night too and in all I’ve lost nothing thus far.

Then I weighed myself this morning and I gained HALF A STONE!!

I know then when you are doing exercise you do gain muscle and as such your weight will go up a little. But half a stone?

I assume its muscle. I sure as hell didn’t pig out yesterday and I don’t look any heavier.

Just feels odd. Half a stone? I’ve done this kind of thing before; I’d lose some weight and then regain the mass in muscle but it would be enough to cover the loss or there or there abouts.

But HALF A STONE!?

I think the lesson to learn is to weigh myself weekly and not daily.

At least that will stop any more shock results!

Slowly being the key term, after all it is summer and what little sunshine we get tends to last long into the night.

Not that you can really call it night though its only dark for about half an hour then the birds start cherping away.

Well the did at my flat, back home we must make do with sea gulls.

Its not like we live by the sea. no were some way inland.

But no so much that we get snow as thick as we would like in the winter mind.

Nope we get a millimeter, like that icing powder shite that they put on cakes in tea rooms to make them look a little less like Netto’s own.

Or what ever the cheap as hell store it is now (Netto is no more).

All the while we get shots on the news about the “OMG CHRIST FUCK ICE AGE!” with kids sliding down hills on their mothers George Foreman grill (if they are middle class) or flattened cider case (if they’re are Chavs). Cheering and whooping as they go all smiles and giggles. Then we get a report on how unready we where and how (as soon as the country as thawed out) there will be a full investigation.

And then you’ll go to the shop in shorts and a t-shirt buy a disposable BBQ and catch a glance on ‘The Sun’ with a headline about the weather and how its caused by immigrants coming over here and stealing our good weather.

Tonight’s weather is forecast to be dry with clear skys and sun.

In case you where wondering

Its that period that only students really know of, the one where even though we are glad as hell that your course has finally finished for the year and you have the warm glow of summer to enjoy you just don’t know what to do with yourself.

This feeling otherwise known as “Ishouldbedoingshititus” tends to vanish after a few weeks (even quicker if you’ve been on the piss (you know making up for lost time)). But it seems to be lagging around for me.

Maybe its because I’m a super mega awesome arty type and being idle creatively is whats sending my round the bend and couple the with the fact its been a dogs age since I last did a Radio show it all makes for a horrific bedroom romp of pain.

I should be doing things, hell I’ve got ideas yet for some reason I just can’t break out of this rut.

Anything job, ANY job or task over the past few weeks has been a god send!

Even me moving out of my flat felt like a creative orgy. And now that its done I’m in a rut!

Hopefully this will go some way to help me break it.

This blog I mean.

Its a refurbishment (for want of a better word) of an old blog that I had, hence why the banner image looks somewhat out of date and most other whimsical things that should make up the bread and butter of a modern day blog (Youtube videos of kids fighting with the street-fighter music going of in the back ground, picture of dyslexic cats ect.) are at present missing in action.

On the subject of cats I had an odd dream last night, which I’ll share with all two of you now as I am A) Beefing up the content and B) Scraping the barrel for said content.

So here it goes.

Just imagin some shitty hippy zen music  in the background for this (If I was on the air you’d hear it anyway (as in for comic effect, I don’t play shitty hippy music (well depends how drunk I am (and how ballsed up the studio is)))).

So there I was on a rollercoster with my family, as you do.

We where wizzing round and flying all over the place. as you do.

Then we get to this sudden drop bit though rather than face down like most ‘costers we where facing ahead as if we where on one of those vertical drop towers. So in that we get two rides in one. Not a bad deal.

So we start falling down cheering away, as you do.

When for some strange reason my sister produces one of our cats from thin air and sits him on her lap, as you d- well don’t its not advised really given that he slipped from her grip and jumped off.

But fear not cat fans as for some strange reason the rides drop took us through a fast food restaurant which he jumped into. The highest floor too. As you do.

So we get of the ride. My sister is heart broken a the though of losing the ginger moggy so I go into the restaurant to get it. As you do.

And as the lil’ cat is on the top floor I decied to take the lift as the only other way up is too climb a waterslide connected to the kitchen. I did try going that way but one of the waiters gave me evils for trying. So I took the lift.

I get in and what do I see?

That it is coin operated. Its 10p a go and all I had was a 20p. And it doesn’t give you change either.

So just I’m about to break down in tears three Hooters girls enter and give me the change to go up.

In the end I saved the cat but…

Hell its a bit of a to do if even your dreams aren’t gonna put out for you…
